Baby, I'm a Star!

Hola Friends,
Hope ya had a great weekend! Today I have a card for the Sweet Dreamer's Sketch Challenge (Sketch by Marti) and Cinema Saturday Challenge (Add a Star).
Here are the two challenges:

 Here's my card:

I know, very colorful card! But it's going to a girl who lives out loud, so I think it might fit her personality :)
The Deets:
I threaded yellow ribbon through the little holes in the white ribbon (I thought it looked cute!) & added yellow blingies. The star image was cut out on my Cricut with the Home Decor Cart. It looks glittery, but it's not. It's actually this beautiful Iridescent Gold paper that (depending on the light) shines yellows, greens, & pinks. So pretty! I punched out two little stars & adhered them to the swirls. Can't say I love the Pattern Paper though :(

Thanks for peekin' today. I'm off to get ready for a new week.
Gotta Go!

Sweet Dreamer's Challenge: A baby card for Kathy!

Hi friends,
This is the card I made for Kathy. She is one of our very own Sweet Dreamers and is now a proud mommie to a brand new baby girl :) Congratulations Kathy! I hoped to get this card out to her yesterday, but I've come down with a heinous case of the flu---> again!!! I'm going to the doc to make sure it isn't the kind that oinks.
My card is a little baby armoire all dec'd out with girly girl things.
Here it is open:

The top drawer pops up.

And closed:

It is held shut with velcro on the underside of the label.
This card was made with this template---> here I bought a long time ago, but I love making these. Every time there's a new baby, I break out my template & create one of these cards. I so need to change it up, but these cards are so unique & different, I can't resist!

Thanks so much for peekin' at Kathy's little armoire card. I'm hoping I'm able to pass out candy tonight, but I doubt it :( I'm soooooo sad because watching the kids come by all giggles with excitement is what I enjoy most about Halloween. I'm off to drink more tea & my wonderful grandma is making me some homemade chicken soup--- grandmas are the bestest!
Gotta Go!

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge: Cute as a Bug

Hi friends,
Today I have a card I created for the Sweet Dreamers' Challenge this week. Our task was to create a card with a bug on it- and I chose one of my favorite critters- the butterfly. Here are the deets to my card:
I embossed the Crushed Curry CS in the Victorian CB embossing folder. Sprayed the white CS with Tattered Angels Irridescent Gold Spray (I know so hard to capture that in the pic, but it gives it a soft , subtle shimmer), & stamped the flourish in black. (I wish I would have heat embossed it though :( I think it would have looked awesome.) I added black brads to each corner, stamped the sentiment in Dusty Durango. I added the ribbon to the side, cut out my butterfly from BasicGrey Pattern Paper & added a button on top. Not a difficult card at all, but I like, I like :) I'm a bold colors kind of girl so these SU! colors don't scare me. But clowns--> now, they SCARE me!!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit :) I'm so tickled that anyone even pops in & finds my blog with all the blogs out there in blogland! and that many of you actually return! Tickled Pink, I tell you! Soooo... thanks so much! Luv the comments too :) they really make my day :) :) I'm off to my LSS to show off my new baby--- my Gypsy! They're dying to see it in action so~~~> Gotta Go!

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge: Christmas Card with Animals

Hi friends,
Today I have the Dreamer's challenge card to share with ya.

This week our challenge was to create a Christmas card with an animal on it. I thought Oh, cool maybe I'll stamp a reindeer or something. So I looked through my stamp stash & realized I don't have ANY Christmas stamp sets with animals on it! Deer? Where did I get the idea that I had any deer stamps? Must be stamp dreaming! Finally, I found this one- the only one I have. But, isn't it sooo cute! Luv those little penguins jumping rope with the lights!

Here are the deets:
This is a gatefold-style card. I ran the white CS in the CB embossing folder to create the look of snowballs. The Penguins are colored in with a Sakura black glaze pen which gives them that slick penguin-y look. I added liquid appliqué for the little ends of their hats, and added Stickles to the light bulbs to make them sparkle & look like they're lit up :) ~~~>Bummer you can't tell in the pic :( The snowflake border is a Martha Stewart punch. Not your traditional Christmas colors, but wintery, don't ya think?

Thanks so much for peekin' at my penguin pals today! Be sure to visit my fellow Dreamers to check out their creations- VERY talented group of ladies :) I'm off to a day full of basketball games for my oldest son. He's got a tournament today & I've gotta go cheer him on. No, I'm not the crazy mom who yells at the refs.....anymore (just kidding :)---> Gotta go!

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge: Aly's Sketch Challenge & GYPSY Update

Hi friends,
Phew! I made it just in time to share this week's Dreamers Challenge. (It's been crazy busy dealing with my Gypsy, but let's save that for later.) This week, our challenge was to use Aly's sketch to create a card. Maybe you haven't heard of Aly--->YET, but ya will! She's Tami's (Sweet Dreamers) 10 year old daughter. Aly has her own Sketch Challenge Blog and she even gives away prizes! The challenge runs for 2 weeks so you still have 1 week to get yours in!
Here's my card:

Here's Aly's sketch:Move over Mojo Monday and SCS, Aly's on the scene! Won't you visit her blog & try this sketch yourself? If you're stumped (like I was) Aly provides a sample card she creates with her sketch. Remember she's 10 yrs old! What was I doing at 10 years old? Not creating cards, my own sketches, & hosting my own challenge blog, that's for sure! I think I was driving my Barbies in their Barbie Corvette from the Barbie Pool House to the Barbie Beauty Shop! ( I had a loooong childhood! ;) You Rock Aly!

GYPSY UPDATE!!!
To make a LONG story not as long, I got my Gypsy on Tuesday & started playing with it- soooo cool! I didn't have time to register it until yesterday (Saturday). When I went to do that, it didn't let me :( I had system 10.4.11 & you needed System 10.6 or higher! WHAAAAAAAAAT!!!! Nobody, not Provo Craft nor HSN mentioned that! So I went to the Cricut message boards & sure enough there were a swarm of angry Mac crafters there. Finally, what I had to do was buy the upgrade to Snow Leopard (System 10.6- the latest & greatest.) Once I installed that, it was smooth as silk chocolate cake! Oh, it was $169.00 to upgrade. This has turned out to be one very expensive toy, so I better put it to good use & make lots of projects, cards, & Scrapbook pages, huh! But I do like the new features of Snow Leopard so... It's all well that ends well...I guess :) Ya wanna take a peek at mine...

Here it is:I bought the Cherry Blossom Skin. It comes with the wristlet & the pink Metallic Stylus. I added the Hello Kitty charm so I can easily pull it out. (It's pretty hard without it!)

Here's a closer peek at the Bling I added to it

Luuuuuv the way that came out!

Here's the back:

No bling on the back. I added "My Gypsy" & the pink ribbon with a pink Sharpie.

Thanks so much for peekin' today! I'm off to get ready for school. Where did this weekend go????--->Gotta go!

The EYES have it - MOJO105 & Dreamers Challenges

Hi friends,
I have a twofer card for ya today! That means 1 card for two challenges. I used MOJO Monday Sketch (above) and the Sweet Dreamers challenge of using buttons to create this fun card:

Ewwwww! Don't they remind you of those gummy eyeballs? I hope you're not sick of Halloween! I love it! I have a blast this time of year! Plus I get to stuff myself with chocolates & they're on sale, too!!! Tee! Hee! Anyhoo, I created eyeballs looking all around & one extra creepy one at the top. The pupils are created with black buttons. This is what I saw in my mind the first time I looked at the sketch---> seriously! I told you my mind wanders & completely leaves me sometimes! This was a very simple, but fun card. I plan on adding a pop-up eye that springs out when you open the card!

Thanks so much for peekin' at my challenge card today! Thank you for all your well wishes, too. I'm not 100% well yet, but I 'm going back to school. I'm participating in Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop tomorrow, so I hope you can pop back to see my project! I'm off to see the unveiling of the Gypsy on HSN! EEEEEK! I don't know if I'm going to buy it yet, we'll see after the presentation---Gotta go!

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge #8 Ebony & Ivory

Hi friends,
Today I have this card to share for this week's Sweet Dreamer's Challenge. Our challenge was to create an all black & white or cream & white card. This is what I created on my death bed---Ok, I'm being a little dramatic, but I feel like poo. Everything hurts & I've had a fever for the last couple of days. Sorry, but I think I've sweated out my creative juices! Maybe I'll be in better shape for next week's challenge.

I hope you're all feeling well :) thanks for peekin' today! I'm off to drink some more water---Gotta go :(

PS: YMH is giving away some real goodies this weekend to one lucky follower. So be sure to check it out. :)

Sweet Dreamers' Challenge #7 Share a Hug

Hi friends,
Today I have a card I created for this week's Dreamers' Challenge: "Share a hug with a fold in the middle." Our challenge this week was to create a card for someone who needs some "cardstock cuddles"--- you know, someone who needs some cheering up & a handmade card is the way to do it. I was so touched by Mary's link to Paige's Story. It's a tragic story about a young girl who recently lost an arm in a boating accident. I decided to make this card for her:

It's a spinner card. The little sun spins (this is where video would be great!!!)
I used the Heidi Swiss Pixie stamp. Isn't she so sweet? I added Stickles to glitterfly her wings. I'll be putting it in the mail on Monday & I hope it brings a smile to her face :) If you'd like to join those of us who are sending Paige a card, here's where you can mail it:

Paige Welch
Boston Children's Hospital
300 Longwood Ave.
Boston, MA 02115

If you send a card to Paige, make sure to link your card/blog post on Erin's blog. She has lots of fabulous blog candy to share.

Thanks for peeking at my card today! I'm off to get some more "cardstock cuddling" done before the weekend is gone---> Gotta Go!

Sweet Dreamer's Challenge # 6 Get Your Motor Running!

Hi friends,
Today I have this card for Sweet Dreamer's Challenge #6 "Get Your Motor Running!"
Our challenge was to use anything with a motor. I thought I wouldn't be able to join this challenge b/c I couldn't remember having anything with a motor. Then I checked my stamp book & saw this one! Woo Hoo! I get to play after all :) Very straight forward card. I colored, cut out, pop-dot the truck to the panel and
replaced the wheels with buttons. Fall is just about here- but in my neck of the woods (Southern California) it is HOT!!! All the fires aren't helping either :(

Some bit of news... YMH would like to give away a Cricut Cartridge! You can find all the deets here.

Dreamers' Challenge # 5- Eyelets Galore & then some

Hi friends,
Before I begin with the deets to my card, I totally forgot to share some super fabulous news. Remember my Teacher Table Trio? Well it's going to be published! (That's why I had to temporarily remove it from my blog.) More info to come later :) But it will be back in a month, after September's publication. Crazy, right? I'm getting published, am part of a design team, have you as my blog friends--- life is good- like Sees chocolate good!!!!!!

On to my card:

Today I have a Twofer card. That means it's two challenges met on 1 card. Ok, so the first challenge was for the Sweet Dreamers. This week the challenge was to use eyelets. So you can see them on the upper right, lower left corners. This challenge- (check). Then, for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, the challenge was to use red stitches (in honor of the flick Field of Dreams.) I added little ones to the grassy field so they'd look like little flowers from afar.

Here's a closer peek:

One last note, since my project was chosen for the Audrey Award last week for Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge I get to be guest designer for next week's film! Tomorrow is the big reveal for that :) So I hope you can hop back to see that card/project.

Thanks so much for peekin' today! I'm off to try to recoup some lack of sleep time-- gotta go!

Sweet Dreamers’ Challenge # 4- Word Has It...

Hi friends,
Today I have a card to share with you for The Sweet Dreamer's Challenge. This week, our challenge was to make a card using a sentiment as the focal point. We can stamp background images but no coloring allowed . Now, normally I would jump for joy at this kind of challenge- but I was in a total coloring mood this week :{ Eeeeek! Well, I sat down & started playing with my new toy: the Tulip Pendant die & this is what I created:

I'm so in luuuuv with these pendants! Spellbinders just doesn't cease to amaze me with their products! I inked the little tulips & popped them up on foam tape. It's a bright & cheery card, which I need right now. I'm bummed because I'll be teaching a combo class ( 2nd and 3rd graders) this year. Yuck! I don't like teaching combos. It's double the work without the pay :(
Thanks for peekin' at my challenge card--- I'm off to a 13 hour crop! Yahoooo--- Gotta Go!

Sweet Dreamers’ Challenge # 3- All About the Grid

Hi friends,
Today I have this card to share with you for The Sweet Dreamers Challenge.

It's an untraditional Teacher card. Having completed a whole week of Teacher-y stuff, I thought I would make something totally different. Our challenge this week was to create a card with grid lines. Looking through the options, I remembered this crossword stamp I don't think has ever experienced the sweet smell of fresh ink in the morning! I stamped the "crossword clue" using Papertrey Ink's Teacher's Apple & Simple Alphabet Stamps. (I stamped it crooked, ugggh!) I die cut the corners with a Cuttlebug die, added some pearls, embossed the edges with a CB folder strip & highlighted them with dots from my white gel pen.

Thanks a million for peekin' at my card today! I've gotta get all my junk ready to take back to school on Monday--- Gotta go!

Sweet Dreamers’ Challenge # 2- Reuse/Recycle

Hi friends,
Today I have a project for the Sweet Dreamers Challenge #2. The challenge was to use something we were going to throw out & recycle it instead. If yo
u've been hanging around these parts, you know this challenge was right up my alley! So while thinking about what to use, there was a knock at the door. The UPS man brought me just what I needed for this challenge: A BOX! I took the box, cut it up, & made this:

The base for my "Game Night Score Keeper."
I cut the box into six rectangles, rounded the corners, sanded the edges, inked up the sides, & used patterned paper left over from another project.

Ta Dah! The finished product:
I added a refrigerator clip magnet to hold the paper & pen & popped on the poker chip sticker to the front of the magnet (the little picture had chipped off anyway). Then I cut paper & stamped around it to tie it in with the Game Night theme. I'm making 6 of these since we get together with other friends for game nights & everyone will have one at their place when we all come over.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my green project. I'm off to work on the rest of these so they're ready for the next game night--- Gotta go!
