DT: TA Ribbon Bath Tut

Hi friends,
Do you have Glimmer Mist & want to die your ribbons to match the color but don't like messy, inky fingers :( Well, today I thought I'd share the way I dye my ribbon using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I thought I'd make a little tut for ya.
Here we go:
You'll need a sandwich baggie, ribbon of your choice, & glimmer mist.

Spray some glimmer mist in the bag

Add your ribbon & seal the bag WELL. Make sure it's sealed (with a kiss if you want ;)

Work the ribbon with your fingers (on the outside of the bag) so it's absorbing the glimmer mist.
Add more dye until you reach the desired color.

Then you're ready to remove the ribbon from the bag & lay it flat on a protected surface.

Let it dry or if you're as impatient as I am, use your heat tool :) Remember to use a heat-resistant mat or surface.

Here it is dry & ready to use! You can see what I started with & the color I achieved. It will lighten a bit once it dries. But best of all, there's not a drop of glimmer mist on my hands! Dang, I should have taken a pic of that :(

Easy peasy! So what did I do with that ribbon trim?
This:
I made a simple little card :) I also sprayed the Prima Flower with Glimmer Mist as well, used pink satin ribbon for the ribbon ruffle, & stamped "Be Mine" to make a border. This card was a total CAS card for me!

You can find loads of yummy Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colors, Prima flowers, & the Bella lace trim I used for my card (& others) at the YMH Store.

Thanks for peeking today & I hope this tut was helpful :)

Mojo meets JUGS

Hi there friends,
Wow this past week flew by! I've been super busy since Finals are quickly approaching & there's so much to do. I had a quick chance to play along with this week's Mojo Monday challenge. It was another great sketch to work with. Definitely one I will use again!
Here's the sketch:
Here's my card:
I used papers from the MS ink key & heart collection. The hearts are felt layered together with a heart pin through it. You might notice that the ribbon ruffle is messy at the top & neater at the bottom- that's to symbolize how love can sometimes be both as turbulent as the sea & as right as rain. ---> Just kidding! That's just how it turned out, but I was getting pretty deep with that, right?! Hee! Hee! Hey, that kind of writing talent is what helped me get through those 25 page papers in college, let me tell ya!

The JUGS challenge this week is to decorate & line a matching envelope for your card. So that's what I did with the scraps- which were just the right size for the liner. I also punched a border along the edge :) I also stamped the little heart in the corner.
I don't know if I've ever lined my envelopes before, but WOW! it just makes your card 10 times better by just adding that little touch!

Here they are together:

The sentiment is also PTI from the Signature Greetings stamp set.

Handmade Christmas Album

Hi ya friends!
Happy 2011!
During my mini-break from school, I got a chance to work on a couple of projects. This is an album that we started in a class. I had to do most of the work at home since there was so much detail involved, but I absolutely LOVE the way it came out.
Here's the cover:
I made the banner & rose myself :) Most of the embellishments in this book were handmade, which was one of my favorite things about the class & making this album.

 Here are the 1st & 2nd pages:

Here's a closer peek at the each page:
In between each page are inserts. On this page there's an envelope & "Family" tag.
 Here's the 2nd page:

Here are the 3rd & 4th pages:
The inserts: double-sided photo tag & journaling tag

Closer peeks:

5th & 6th pages:
The inserts: a double-sided photo tag & journaling tag

There's a pull-out tag on the right for more journaling:
The bottom page: (there's another pull-out tag on the right pocket)
 Here's the back cover:

The side view: See the crystal danglies! so pretty :)
Even though it took a while to put it together, it was so worth it. It's just beautiful & I'll be so happy to put our Christmas pictures in it.

The album, papers, & embellishments are from Teresa Collins. There are also a few things from Maya Road. Hope you like it & I hope if Scrapbooking seems a bit overwhelming for ya, you'll give these fab mini-albums a go. You'll be hooked!

Thanks so much for peeking today! The good life is over for me & now I've got to get going for school again.
Gotta go!
