He's Priceless

Hi ya friends,
Sunday was Easter Day, but it was also my oldest son's 18th birthday! There were times I was sure one of us wasn't going to make it to see that day, but fortunately we survived! This kid is a big reason for the gray hair I dye, & the many, many, many emergency room trips I made! I thought I would be getting a personal parking spot for a while :(  Did I mention that he was a 10 pound turkey at birth & I was in labor for 36 hours, & he didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months old???!!! Ack! Well, that being said, he's also been my "Bones buddy" & my little basketball star. I will definitely miss watching him play (if he doesn't play in college) and our funny times when we get the giggles for no reason :) I guess I was right on the money when I named him Akoni~ which means "priceless" ;)

I was in Target & peeked at the birthday card section to check out the competition ;) wink & checked out the cards especially for 18 yr olds. It was so funny that they all mentioned the same thing ---> moving out! While I'm not quite ready for that, my son is definitely NOT ready for that! LOL!
Anyhoo, I didn't buy a card, I made one for him.
Here it is:
I used MFT's At the Movies stamp & dienamics set. I stamped 18 on the dots of the pattern paper (which fit perfectly :) The film reel border is a Sizzix die.
Here's a peek of the innies:
It reads, "18 and the best is yet to come." The numbers & stamp are from PTI. I am very excited for the "next steps" my son will be taking in life. Graduation & college in the near future & whatever else he chooses. Hopefully they will be good ones that will lead him to a life of purpose.

I used this sketch from The Sweet Stop (who is also celebrating a birthday!):

I'll also be playing along in the following challenges:
Love to Create: Birthday
Stampalot Challenge: Birthday
Polka Doodles: Big Birthday
Just Keep on Creating: Anything Goes

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Gotta Go!
