Less Frill, more Dude

Hi friends,
Does your mind wander while you're crafting? Mine... of course! Today's card is proof of that. I initially decided to make a masculine card, but that's not quite what I ended up with! Here was the end result:
Masculine? Maybe not with that doily & lace- oh my! Did you see my feeble attempt to make it more masculine by adding twine. Ha! Nice try there ~  Ugh... :( Sometimes I get so lost in my paper crafting, I totally lose sight of the objective! I wanted to play with the Cuckoo Clock Spellbinders die I recently picked up. I guess it reminded me of the one Grammy has at her house which is why I got it.  So I guess I need to go back to the craft room & work on one a little less... frilly :)  IDK, what do you think? Masculine enough??? The pattern paper is Lost & Found Breeze by MME, the doily is a die from PTI.

I used the current sketch from my friends over at Cardabilities:
I'll also be playing along with the following challenges:
City Crafter Challenge: It's All Natural
Creative Card Crew: Masculine :) The intent was masculine, you decide though :)
Whimsy inspiration Challenge: Monochromatic

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Gotta go!

  1. Oh Wow!! What a super clock! ... Love this card and I love the colour of your doily ... thank you so much for sharing this with us at CCCB

  2. This is absolutely beautiful, thanks for playing along with us at CCCB!

  3. I think you're going to have the lose the lace and doily to get the masculine effect you're after! Great card as always though!

  4. Love that cuckoo clock!

I think this can still be a masculine card. The doily and lace don't look too feminine with the dark papers.

Whoever receives it will be thrilled.

  5. Fab card, I just love the cuckoo

  6. What a beautiful card. I just love that clock.. Thanks so much for playing along with us at CCCB!

  7. Hi Karli, I have just spent about 20 mins having a good look around your blog, it's brilliant! You have some fantastic ideas and make wonderful cards. Thank you for the inspiration. Teresa xx

  8. This is wonderful Karli, love the cuckoo clock die, very cool. I think it could still be manly, the doily and lace give it a vintage feel, but the colors look manly. Really great card.

  9. So LOVELY! ! LOVE. that clock!! Thanks for joining us at CCCB!

  10. Sometimes a card turns out to be what it needs to be. Did that make sense??? I think its fabulous. Really love the doiley behind the cuckoo clock.
