Cinema Saturday Challenge- Sense and Sensibility

Hi friends,
Today I'm participating in this week's Cinema Saturday Challenge of the movie:
I saw this movie for the first time about a year ago. My fav genre is Horror movies, so this movie doesn't quite fit. Anyhoo, I saw it one day it came on & really enjoyed it. I'm sure it had a lot to do with Alan Rickman. I just LOVE him! No, not Johnny love him (let's not get crazy here ;) but I love Alan Rickman's acting talent. No one else can play Professor Snape like he can.

Enough babble, here's my card:
My inspiration was Alan's character (Col. Brandon) and his quiet adoration of Marianne. He just waited in the stillness until she finally came to him. That's what this little bird among the grasses reminds me of.

The challenge for this movie was CAS (Clean & Simple), something I don't do well. This was my feeble attempt at CAS. I used the CB Bird Call EF on Shimmer White CS for my main image, colored it with watercolors, wrapped a ribbon with a button around the card & added the sentiment, "I Love Thee."

So if you want to know which Austen Heroine I am, I took the test & well...
What a shocker, right?
Thanks for peeking today! Have a bold & fun "Marianne" Day!

  2. Girl, your card is awesome and amazing and simply beautiful!!! I love Alan Rickman too - the way that he plays Snape is simply perfection! (Do you remember the one with Umbridge and the way he dryly/sarcastically replies to her inane/annoying questions... sigh... he is so good! And I was cracking up to read "not Johnny love him"....LOL!!!! Love that description!! Your card really captures that sweetness and the waiting quality that you described! Beautiful!

So glad that you played along with us Karli!!! YAY!
    Big hugs,
    Sankari :)

  4. You did a fantastic job in the CAS department. Lots of white space and clean lines. Love the embossing! Col. Brandon is my favourite character loyal and patient and kind...and I am so glad that Marianne figured it out in the end.

  10. Definitely not a feeble attempt! It's just perfect the way it is. And Alan Rickman (sigh) - I don't think I've ever met a woman who doesn't swoon when he speaks! Can't wait to see him in Deathly Hallows!
