Hello, Friend

Happy Sunday, friends!
I'm sharing a card today using a stamp I've had for ages & haven't inked up :(
Here it is:
I used the no line Copic coloring technique and OMG!!! it was so hard to color her hair! This image is called Cheeky Beach from The Greeting Farm and it's super adorbs, but that hair is the stuff of coloring nightmares! Anyhoo, I'm still very much a newbie and it proves I have a loooong way to go...lol.

Here's a peek of the innies:

I used this week's great sketch from Mojo Monday:

for a Cheeky Birthday Girl

Hi ya friends,

Today I have a card I made for a friend of mine:
I colored this Cheeky girl with Copics. I masked her so I could put her on top of a cupcake & then added the background with Distress Inks. I colored her to look like my friend.

Here's a closer peek:
I added Stickles to the cupcake frosting.

Here's a peek of the innies:
I just luv this little balloon animal- so fun!

I thought this Cheeky girl would be perfect for my friend because she is loads of fun--- just like her!

That's it for now...Ciao!

Happy 2013!

Happy New Year blog friends!
I meant to post this much earlier today, but I woke up late. Hmmm... wonder why? ;)
Here's my new card for the new year:
I used this cutie New Year's Anya that the good peeps at the Greeting Farm gave as a freebie a couple of years ago. She's colored with Copics. Her dress has a lovely coat of gold Stickles for high sparkle :) I decided to go metallic & use gold, bronze, & silver only.  I used T!m's Weathered clock in the background & the gold panel is embossed with the pocket watches EF.

I played along with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch:
I'll also be playing along in the following challenges:
ABC Challenge: E is for Embossing
Papertake Weekly: Anything Goes
JUGS: New Year's Sparkle

Thanks for ringing in the new year here. Hope you had a great night!
Time to go!

So here's sketch #19 for ya:

Here's my card:
This is New Year's Anya & isn't she so cuuute! I just adore her! (but more about her in a minute ;)
The Deets:
She's colored with Copics. The papers come from the Fine & Dandy Collection from My Mind's Eye. I cut the scallop & circle on my Cricut. The tickets are PTI ticket die & the coordinating stamp set called Just the Ticket stamped on Rustic White CS. The buttons are also PTI. Then I added pearls with my Viva Decor Pearl Pen. The sentiment is also PTI from the Signature Greetings stamp set.

Here's a closer peek at Anya & her glittery hat :)

Her sash got a bit of Shimmerz:

You've got until the 11th to play along & be in the running for 1 of 3 gift certificates! So linky up your card to the Cardabilities blog and while you're there please be sure to check out the rest of the DT's fab cards :)

Anyone for Anya

Hi friends,
I think I'm right under the wire for this week's challenge at Anyone for Anya.
Here's the sketch:
 Here's my card:
The image is Beanie Anya from the Greeting Farm. Isn't she cuuuute?! She's colored with Copics. I used papers from Bo Bunny's Winter Joy collection. I'm so loving these non-traditional Christmas colors! Instead of matting layers with cardstock, I thought I would add Stickles around the edges instead. I'm sure it's hard to see, but between each layer of DP, there's a layer of Stickles- so this card has plenty o' sparkle! I'm going to add the greeting under the purple Christmas tree. I would loooove a purple Christmas tree! I think it would look amazing :) The snowflakes are MS punches.

This card also makes it for the challenge at Stamp something- make a Christmas card. I have a feeling they'll have loads of entries ;)

Thanks for peeking today!

Ho 3

Hello friends,
It's my favorite card-making time---> Christmas! I luuuuuv making Christmas cards so today that's what I've got to share with ya. Aaaaand it's also for several challenges :)
I used this week's Club Anya Sketch:
Here's my card:
This card is going to my good (actually, my naughty ;) friend Sam. You know you have that friend that brings out the naughty side in you? Well, Sam is that friend for me! We have loads of fun together :)

The deets:
The image is from "A Cheeky Christmas" by The Greeting Farm colored with Copics. I think I need to adjust my OTT light cuz it seems to be drowning out the colors :( I used Liquid Appliqué for the trim on her hat & tinsel glitter for her clothes. The Pattern paper is the uber gorgeous Jovial by BasicGrey (yes, currently on my hoarding list ;) I ran my Krylon Gold leaf pen along the edges. For my embellies, I used gold lame ribbon, poinsettia flower, gold button, & gold beads.

This card will be included in the following challenges:
Club Anya & Friends- Sketch
BasicGrey- Recipe: 4 different embellies, 3 different DP, 1-2 images & sentiment
JUGS- Add a holiday embellie
Anyone for Anya- Girlie Fun
Paper Cutz- Anything Goes!

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Ho, ho, hope you have a great weekend!

Watch out for that...

Howdy friends,
I have another project to go with this week's theme. Know what it is yet???
Here's the card front:
This is Hula Anya colored with Copics. She's so cuuute! Love how she's working the coconut bra!
I used this Club Anya & Friends Sketch:
And when you open it...

POP goes the coconut!
Mmmmm, I LUUUUV coconut! The kind you get from the tropics is sooo yummy! And as an official coconut connoisseur, let me tell you that not all coconuts are the same.

Again, I used the Sizzix Ball die. I cut the main parts out of coconut bark (aka brown textured cardstock) & only the top piece in white for the coconut meat & left a bit of that showing. Popped in a straw I trimmed to fit inside (sorry, I only had blue straws) & a little umbrella & we're ready to Luau! The umbrella would have to come out when closing the card, but the straw will tuck in there nicely :)
Here are a few more peeks:
I cut out the letters with my Cricut using the Life's a Beach cart. This is such a cute font :) This card is just callin' me & reminding me that summer vacation is almost here. I've just got to hang for 1 more week :) then I get to bust out MY coconut bra! ewww, just kidding ;)

Fun Fact: Falling coconuts kill 150 people every year which is 10 times the number of people killed by sharks. Now you're one step closer for that Jeopardy championship :)

Thanks for popping in today. I'm off to eat some coconut gelato!
Gotta Go!

Alice, the Cheshire Cat, & a mac

Hi again friends,
I'm so crazy busy with end of the year school stuff so my postings will be more sporadic in the next month. But, I do have a couple graduation & end of the year teacher ideas that I'll share with ya- not to worry ;)

Today, I have a "just for fun" card. Sometimes, you just have to play for the sake of playing, kwim?
Here's my card:

I used this week's Club Anya sketch #19:
This is Alice in Wonderland. One of the cuuuute images from the Signature Collection from The Greeting Farm. The DP is I'm Late from Reminisce & it is absolutely adorable! One side is the Cheshire cat & the other side is the rabbit.
How cuuuute, right! So as soon as I saw this paper, I knew Alice needed to get inky :) She's colored with Copics. The border punch is MS. I also used one of my fav color combos of gray, white, & pink :)

I bought a new Mac Book Pro & *FREE* ipod Touch today! OMGOOOOOOOSH how utterly amazing is the ipod touch!!!! I feel like I've been living in a cave all this time without it. I had an old ipod, but the Touch has left me speechless! If you're in the market for a new mac computer, check out the "Back to School Promotion" at apple.com. If you're a teacher or student, and you buy a computer, you get a free ipod touch (w/rebate) + $100 off. Niiiiice!

Thanks for taking the time to pop in the ol' blog-o! I'm late! I'm late! so...
Gotta Go!

Cinema Saturday Challenge- New Moon

Hi there friends,
Today I'm sharing a little something for Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge of the movie:

Who should Bella choose? Edward or Jacob? vampire or werewolf? It's tough to be Bella ;) Well, here's what I created:
It's a silver picture frame with a picture of Edward for Bella's night stand. As she tells Jacob in that heart breaking scene "I choose Edward.. It's always been him." Awww, poor Jacob :(

I used the Classic Frame Frameabilities to create the frame. I cut it out of silver cardstock. I didn't want to give Edward too much color so I stuck with Copics E50, E51, & E53 to color him. I used my Spica clear glitter pen all over his face & arms so that he sparkles like when in the sun. It actually looks way cool IRL :)
Here's a closer peek:
I sponged the background with Smokey Shadow- PTI, & Peeled Paint Distress ink.

But wait... I can't leave my girls of Team Jacob hangin' so here's one I created just for you...
How Bella can pass up those killer abs is beyond me! I know, I know, I was horrified (just like all of you ;) when Jacob took off his shirt like that! Yeah, New Moon was a tough movie to watch since Jacob has his shirt off for much of the movie! ;)-wink. So that's where the inspiration for this card came from. (Hee! Hee!) Very simple card to make- used punches & lots of inking!

So you may be asking... am I Team Edward or Team Jacob? Well... I'm neither. I'm Team Johnny:
Swoon.....heart.....swoon

If you want to check out a funny spoof of New Moon, check out this post---> Here and take a peek at the video.

Thanks for peeking today! I've gotta go back & read this book (didn't get to it), cause I started reading 2 others. I can't wait to see the next movie Eclipse in June :) So if you want to play along, you've got until Thursday night to get your New Moon inspiration done. Check all the deets---> Here.

For a Cheeky Mama

Hi ya friends!
Are you Cheeky? At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the Cheeky Collection from The Greeting Farm. But after seeing so many cute cards made with the images, I decided to ride the risqué roller coaster & get them!
So today, I'm sharing a Mother's Day card for one of my friends, Sam, who I *think* will appreciate the cheekyness.
Here's her card:
These are a bit challenging to color, I must admit, but they're loads of fun too. :) The inside says "You're one HOT Momma!... Happy Mother's Day!"
I colored her with my Copics & added Spica glitter pen to her eyelashes, dress, & shoes for added flirtyness.

Copics Used: Skin: E11, E50, E51, R20  Hair: C3, C5, C7, C9   Clothes: E000

I used this week's SCS Card Sketch for the card:
It's OK to be cheeky once in a while, right? So what do you think of the Cheeky Girls? Any stamps that you find too cheeky for ya?

Thanks so much for peeking today!

The first is for You :)

Hello there friends!
I hope you had a blast ringing in the New Year! I sure did- a little too much :) Hee! Hee! but I must say, my hubby was great! Before he left in the morning (to pick up Starbucks) he left 2 Tylenol & a big glass of water by my bed! Yup, he's a keeper! I rarely drink, but those Amaretto Sours were way too yummy!!! I'm good now... until next year :)
Ok, so for my first card of the year I thought I'd dedicate it to you- yes YOU. Well, I do this blog thing because YOU make it so fun & enjoyable for me :)
Here's your card:

See? It says "Hello friend"---> that's you :)
I used one of the sketches from The Greeting Farm. I didn't get all 12 done, but I did  get several of them in.

I have to say, coloring black hair is hard, but I think this is the best I've done. It looks pretty good IRL---> feels like I'm channeling my inner Cassie with my Copic coloring ;) I used liquid appliqué around the trim & ear muffs. I used Sparkly Fluff on the hand muff so that it's fuzzy, but sparkly at the same time.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek. I hope you like your card :)

Teacher Anya- that's me!

Hi friends,
Today I have a card for the first challenge from The Sweet Dreamers Bloggers. Our challenge was to create a card that showed what we liked using our favorite color, as a getting to know you. So, here's what I created:

You know I'm a 3rd Grade teacher. I'll be starting year 14 at Hogwarts-- OK, not actually Hogwarts, but there are always lots of adventures that go on at my school! After all these years, I still enjoy it (on most days- wink ;)

My Anya is wearing purple because it's my fav color. The chalkboard lists my favorite things:
1. Hello Kitty (what's not to love- hello!)
2. Cooking- not cleaning up! I love food so I enjoy cooking. I have been trying Rachel Ray's 365 meals cookbook & although her recipes require a lot of ingredients, the food is soooooo delicious! It does take me an hour & a half to make a 30 minute meal for some reason!
3. Reading, especially in the horror/suspense genre. I'm currently working on Angels & Demons- which I'm enjoying.
4. Watching horror/suspense movies- I think I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie!
5. Hangin' with family & friends doing all of the above with them.

Thanks so much for peekin' today & for letting me share a little more about myself. Why don't you follow me to my fellow bloggers & meet them! (They're listed on my side bar.) They are so super talented it's just a matter of time before I'm in the board room getting fired! But in the meantime, I'm going to learn all I can from them- especially coloring with Copics. I'm still a newbie, but one day I hope to join the Colorista ranks. Ahhhh, sweet dreamin'---
Gotta Go!
