Stinkin' Cute

Hello friends,
I have a few more cards for the Cards from the Heart card drive and the Share the Love card Challenge.

Here they are:

This is the "boy version."
I used the Stinkin' Cute stamp set with the coordinating dies (Lawn Fawn). Now that's a stamp set that lives up to its name! *Ü* I colored the little skunk with Copics. I die-cut the large heart from the Nestabilities heart set (Spellbinders) and the Heart Circles die (Spellbinders) from Regal Rose and Strawberry Slush cardstock (SU).

Here's the "Girl version."
Everything is the same except for the little flower on her head and the embossing folder in the background. The boy one has dots and this one uses the Rose Garden folder (Sizzix).

Here they are together for comparison:

Here are all the Girl ones: I made 3 of these.

and 2 boy ones:
(If the skunks looks different, you have a good eye! No need to adjust your screen...I colored one skunk with Warm Gray markers, but I liked it better with Cool Grays, so all the rest of the skunks are colored in cool grays.)

Here's a peek of the innies: all have this design.
The sentiment stamp came from the $1 bin at Michael's.

I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #431.
I hope the kiddos getting these cards think they're stinkin' cute! Too bad these aren't scratch & sniff... that would have been a fun touch! ... well maybe the boys might think so. *Ü*

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank yous

Happy New Year friends,
I hope 2016 has been good to you so far *Ü*
I have a couple of Thank You cards to share today.
Here's the first:
I really like the color combos in this paper pad- oranges, pinks, grays, and white. It's from the Blomma collection by Jessica Swift & Anna Griffin. I used the small Dainty Bow Dienamics (MFT) on a Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax (MFT). The sentiment is from Signature Greetings (PTI) on a Stitched Circle Stax (MFT). The little "THANKS" banner was a freebie I received, but it's from Taylored Expressions. I luved that this card came together speedy quick because there's NO coloring- just pattern paper & die cuts & one sentiment stamp! *Ü*  Yay!

Here's the next card:
This card is going to one of my students who plays guitar in his own band--- hence the theme. The guitar comes from the Accent It: Rock & Roll Dienamics (MFT). The sentiment is from Masculine Graphic Tee (MFT). The "Gracias" is from a freebie from Lawn Fawn.
Here's a closer peek at the guitar:
I added a coat of Glossy Accents all over the guitar to give it that slick look. I also used the Liquid Platinum embossing powder (Ranger) and oh my word---I'm in luv! It is a beautiful color! I die-cut the little stars in in too.

I used a couple of sketches to assist me on these cards:
Mojo Monday #428 and MFT Sketch #261.

I have a few more Thank You cards to make--- which is a GOOD thing, right! Lots to be grateful for *Ü*

Thanks so much for peeking at my cards today!
Have a great week *Ü*

Hello, Friend

Happy Sunday, friends!
I'm sharing a card today using a stamp I've had for ages & haven't inked up :(
Here it is:
I used the no line Copic coloring technique and OMG!!! it was so hard to color her hair! This image is called Cheeky Beach from The Greeting Farm and it's super adorbs, but that hair is the stuff of coloring nightmares! Anyhoo, I'm still very much a newbie and it proves I have a loooong way to go...lol.

Here's a peek of the innies:

I used this week's great sketch from Mojo Monday:

That's it for now.

Happy Birthday to June?

Hi again crafty friends,
My friend, June, is a June baby! So thanks to her Mama, it's easy to remember "June's birthday is in June!" I just got this super cute stamp set from Mama Elephant that I was so excited to get inky *Ü*

Here's the card:
I luuuuuuv this little astrology set from Mama Elephant called Cosmic Stars! I used the cute little twins image which corresponds with Gemini *Ü* I colored them with Copics using the No-Line coloring technique.

Here's another peek:
SQUEAL!*Ü* They are just too cuuuute!!!

BUT, I came across a teensy problem!?!? I checked to see what day in June, June's birthday is and it's June 22...which doesn't make her a Gemini...she's a CANCER! D'oh!

That's ok, you know me, and there are NO mistakes in card-making. This little snafu just gave me another opportunity to play with this fun, fun, fun stamp set again *Ü*

HERE's June's card:
I colored in Mr. Crab Cancer with the No-Line Copic technique again. This time I took the opportunity to make a shaker for the front panel. I used a left-over pocket that I cut away from the baseball card sleeve from the pocket letter I created a while back. It was much easier to create the shaker this way *Ü* and it's not bulky.

Here's another peek:
ETA: I will be sharing a tute showing how to make this type of shaker later this week! *Ü*
and of the innies:
Yup, that's the Wonky Stitches die back! Hehehe... I just luv this die... *Ü*

I used this Mojo Monday sketch:
Thanks so much for hanging in there for this long post! So what's a girl to do with a Gemini card? Well...it is MY birthday today so maybe I'll give it to myself! Lol...

I'll play along with the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments: #133 BINGO- (diagonal) Markers + rubber stamp + die cut
7 Kids College Fund: #127 In stitches (faux for me)

That's it for now...go have some cake & ice cream on me! Birthday calories don't count- wink ;)

Mojo Monday 400 Contest!

Hello crafty friends,
I have a couple of cards to share today for a couple of fun things going on in the blog world. But so it wouldn't be a super long post I've created two posts today.

First, is The Mojo Monday 400 contest!

If you've been by my blog, you know I L-U-V Julee's sketches, and use them often for my cards---> even older ones I've got in my sketch files! I'm drawn like a moth to a flame to these sketches because there's usually lots of layers & design elements (which make me happeeee! *Ü*)

Here's the card I created in honor of 400 sketches:
This was such a fun card to create because I got ARTSY!!! I die cut the front panel with the Wonky Stitches die from Avery Elle (Oh my word...I LUUUUV it!) on watercolor paper. I thought I would watercolor the background but then decided to use the Fireworks sprays instead. I've never used them & totally forgot I had them! I saw the very artsy Tenia Nelson use them on a card a while back & luuuved the way it looked. So I sprayed Bahama Blue & Dandelion. I took some Black Soot Distress Ink & splattered some drops with my brush.

Here's another peek:
What I didn't know (because I hoard & don't use my toys) is that the spray leaves sparkle & shine! Bonus! So the background is colorful & shimmery *Ü* I heat embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder. The butterfly is watercolored with Distress Markers using the Wink of Stella brush so it's super shimmery *Ü* Both images come from the Blue Skies Stamp set from Verve. To finish, I added a few irridescent and black sequins.

 Here are the innies:
Yup, that's the Wonky Stitches die again *Ü* This is the larger butterfly from the set.

Here's the sketch: (the very first one!)

Congratulations to Julee and the Mojo Monday designers on 400 awesome sketches & here's to 400 more!

Thanks so much for peeking!
Until next time...

Hello Father

Hi again friends,
I have a couple of cards to share with you.
Here's the first:
I had fun creating this card. I die cut the feathers from vellum and the "hello" from gold foil card stock. I hadn't played with the Scribbles die so I decided to add a couple here. That is such a fun die! Who knew scribbles would make me happy *Ü*

I used this sketch from MFT:
My second card is for Father's Day:
The "father" die cut is a sizzlit die I've had for ever and a day! Sometimes having too many toys is not a good thing because you don't get to use what you have. Even though I have A LOT of toys, I seem to always play with the same ones... must have picked that up from my boys ;) wink.

I used this Mojo Monday sketch (rotated):
I say, if I'm not tall and skinny- neither will my cards! Just kidding... I forgot this was tall & skinny week *Ü* My card is A2 sized.

I will also play along in the following challenges:
Sister Act Card challenges: Challenge #108
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge: Challenge #313 Father's Day
The Crafter's Cafe: One for the boys
Mod Squad Challenges: Masculine
Simon Says Stamp: Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes

Well, that's it for now.

Hope

 Hi friends,
I spent part of Saturday (World Cardmaking Day) making a mess in Studio K! Being that it's Breast Cancer Awareness month & there are loads of card drives going on, I thought I should make as many as I could get done. As I've said in the past, this is a cause that's near & dear to my heart because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 7 years old. She beat it thanks in part to early detection. My godmother who was also diagnosed, was not so fortunate. She passed away at 32 years old, leaving behind 3 young sons...

I settled on this design:
Since I was making several, I needed something simple but pretty. I used PTI's Fanciful Flourishes & stamped it with the Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder. Then I added Prisma glitter because it's super sparkly. I like using the sticky powder because it really holds on to the glitter. I die cut the butterflies from vellum & added a pink ribbon on the body. Last, I stamped the sentiment from the Hope stamp set from Taylored Expressions.

Here's a closer peek at the sparkle:
Zombies aren't as scary as my photog skills! these cards came out so pretty (in my humble opinion :) and I hope they bring the recipients exactly that... HOPE.
I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

Hope you had some crafty time this weekend! Now, to get ready for the week :(

Graduation 2 ways

Hello friends,
I have one more graduation card coming your way today.
Here it is:
I used my school colors of red, white & blue. It's pretty simple but I wasn't sure about the "2013" so I changed it up to this:
I think I like this better.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch: (flipped)
I've got a busy day today so ...
Gotta go!

Wheeee!

Hi friends,
I have a card I made for a friend's birthday.
Here it is:
This is pretty simple for me. I made a little spinning pin wheel to make it fun! The papers are from the Happy Day collection from MME (luv them- they DO make me happy to look at). I used the HB CB embossing folder, viva pen, a doily, & the sentiment is from the Short & Sweet set from SU.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

The good life is over- Spring Break :(   but that means 6 more weeks & it's my summer break! yay!

I'll be playing along in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp: Happy birthday
City Crafter: Anything Goes: Embossing & a paper flower (Linda R)

Thanks for peeking!

sweetness

Hello friends,
I wish I could tell you I've been a busy little crafter, but I didn't spend my weekend crafting. I offer an excuse a reason: my cable company offered free Showtime for the weekend, so I had to catch up with my favorite serial killer---> Dexter! I don't have Showtime this year (in my attempt to save some $$$) so this was the first season I didn't watch & I really missed it :( Anyhoo, that's what I did for 13 hours on Saturday! and man, was it a good season! Thanks cable gods!

I have a card to share today that I made for one of my students. For Christmas, she gave me a cocoa set from Starbucks---> so sweet *Ü*
Here's the card I made:
I embossed the white panel with the peppermint swirls EF. The papers are from the Springtime collection from Echo Park (from last year). I have been dying to make those little lollypops ever since I saw them at a LSS. They were so fun & easy to make! Just punch out a circle, run it through your Xyron sticker maker & roll the twine around & around to cover the circle. Then, coat it with Glossy Accents for that plastic wrapped look. I added a toothpick (cut in half) for the stick. Easy peasy!

Here's a peek of the innies:
I punched a few candy swirls (MS punch) to embellish. Both sentiments come from Signature Greetings from PTI.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch, but not in time for the challenge :(

But I'm right on time for the following challenges:
Corrosive Challenge: Out with the old
Allsorts: Dies / Punches
Card Makin Mamas: Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend: Anything Goes
Paper Crafting Journey: Anything Goes

Well, that's it for now. Hope you have a great week!
Tootles!
