Crafty Catch-Up!

Hello crafty friends,
I know it's been way too long since I posted. That was right before the shut down happened and Distance Learning began. I just finished on Friday and cannot stress enough how relieved I am. I was glad to see my students (when they managed to turn on their video), but am worried for the ones I didn't hear from. I'm hoping it was simply because they didn't want to bother. My district made the decision to give all students, regardless of their grade at the time, a "credit" for their semester grade. So that meant that if they had an A, they got "credit" on their transcript. If they had an F, they got "credit" on their transcript. Ah well... more on that later...

Since I was crazy busy trying to learn a million tech things, I totally neglected my poor little blog. So let's catch up why don't we? Remember, I post regularly on Instagram, so that's the best way to see what I'm up to when you don't hear from me here...

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi friends,
Happy Mother's Day to all! Just popping in to share the Mother's Day card I created for my Grammy from the boys and I.
Here it is:
I used the Mom + Me stamp set and coordinating dies (lawn Fawn). I colored the grandma owl and baby owl with Copics. I decided to take some of the sentiments and have them be reasons why Grandmas are the BEST! I went with this look because my Grammy is just heavenly! *Ü* especially her cooking!!! The background was ink blended with Distress Inks. The clouds are from the Clouds Dienamics (My Favorite Things). Last I scattered some holographic stars in the sky.

I am a couple of weeks away from closing out another year at Hogwarts so it's been a very busy time! I am going to be missing from the blog-o for a while, but I'm not teaching summer school, so I'll have extra crafty time on my hands *Ü*

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time...

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms (and those who provide the love, care, and support a momma does!)

Today, I have a couple of mommie's day cards to share with ya.
Here's the first:
This card is going to a friend. I added my boys (the goat & piggie) the mama hen (me, of course :) and my kitty, Tigress right in the center! I absolutely could not resist this stamp set from MFT---so cuuuute! I think she'll get a kick out of this card *Ü*

The next card is for my Grammy:
This card was so simple, but really pretty in real life. I used the In Bloom impressions folder on the card. Heat embossed the words in gold on vellum cs, & added a few sequins. Dunzo! Couldn't be easier!

I hope you have a beautiful, Amazing, and wonderful day!
Thanks so much for peeking!

The Orchid Show

Hello friends,
To all the mommies & those who are like moms to those in need of one, I wish you a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
Since I am a Latina, I get to celebrate mom's day TWICE. Many countries in Latin America celebrate Mother's Day on May 10th---> and so do I! Annnnd... I also celebrate it on the 2nd Sunday in May *Ü* One of my sons takes care of one and my other son takes care of the other. I always thought it was a good idea to have 2 sons *Ü* hehehe. Well, on May 10th, I got a Big Bang Theory poster. Don't know where I'll put Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, & Raj yet... can't wait to see what I get on Sunday! Hope it's a "Bazinga" T-shirt :) I've been dropping hints about it :)

Today, I'm sharing two cards I made for my Grammy. The first is her birthday card.
Here it is:
Grammy & I L-U-V orchids, so that's what I made for her. These beauties are from Flourishes. I stamped them on Shimmer white cardstock & heat embossed in gold.

Here's a peek at that.

I fussy cut around them so I could pop them up.
I scattered a few gold sequins & sprinkled a few gold pearls with my Viva pen.

The next card is for Mother's Day.
Here it is:
Again, I used Shimmer white cardstock. The orchids came from the "Orchid" Cheery Lynn die. Luuuv!
Here's a closer peek at them:
These were easy to create (unlike some other orchids I've tried in the past). I inked the middles in Cameo Coral. I also added a little Flower Soft for the soil. (Yes, that's an Anna folder :)

Here's a side peek:

This is a GREAT die. I know I'll be making more in lots of colors *Ü*!

I used this week's Sweet Stop sketch: (rotated)

I'll also play along in the following challenges:
Cheery Lynn Designs: Lots of Layers
Our Creative Corner: Anything Goes
Chocolate, Coffee, & Cards: Mother's Day

I've got 1 1/2 weeks of school left! Yaaaay!!! but that also means it is the busiest time of the year. So it might be a bit quiet on the blog front for a while.

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Have a goodie!

Hi friends,
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms & those amazing women who take on that role for others who need some mothering.
Before I share my card today I wanted to share some sweeeeet news. I was one of the winners from last month's 12 tags with T!m Holtz! Wooo Hoo! OK, so on to my card for today, Mother's Day. It goes to one of the most important women in my life---> my Grammy.
Here it is:
I used papers from the Fabrications collection from Teresa Collins (luuuv those papers!) The bloom is the Royal Rose from MFT, the sentiment comes from the Delightful Dahlia set from PTI. The ribbon is seam binding from SU.

Here's a peek of the innies:

I used this week's fab sketch from Mojo Monday:

Cinema Saturday Challenge- Alice in Wonderland

Hellooooooo friends!
I'm back to share my project for this week's Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge for the film:
The challenge requirement is to create something out of the box. Just my kind of challenge!

First, let me say that no, I have not seen the new Alice. Why? well, because The Queen of Hearts (the uber fab Helena Bonham Carter) looks frightening! :{ ---> too much like a clown :( Yuck! I don't like clowns! and my boyfriend Johnny, (emphasis on the --->MY<---) yes, MY boyfriend Johnny, doesn't look his swooniness either. That Tim Burton is such a hater. I mean, have you noticed how he has to make MY Johhny look bad in all of his films? Edward Scissorhands... check. Sweeney Todd... check. This movie... super check! See a pattern here??? Well, I can't say I blame Tim Burton. I mean look at him:

now look at MY Johnny:
Oh swooon! I think it's case closed ;) Hee! Hee!
OK, sorry. But when MY Johnny is involved, I kinda lose my head a bit!

Anyhoo, here's my project:
It's a teacup for the Tea Party! It is 2 separate pieces: the cup & saucer.
I used the colors of the Queen of Heart's dress (which is so choice! The one thing I did like from the new Alice) --- red, black, & gold. I stamped hearts to embellish & added some heart punches popped with dimensionals. I used a gold Krylon marker around the edges.
Here are a couple more peeks:
a little closer peek at the deets of the tea cup.

Inside the tea cup. Oopsie! I drank all the tea. ;) I inked inside the cup for shading.

I won't lie & tell you it was easy-peasy to make, but it wasn't super hard either. I really like the way it came out so it was worth the effort. It is pretty much true to size as well. It would make a great decoration or invitation for a tea party of your own. I bought this template from Waltzing Mouse Stamps in case you're interested.

Thanks so much for peeking today! Tomorrow is my last day of school- YAAAAAAY! I'm sooooo ready for summer vacation!
Gotta Go!

Papercrafting on Canvas

Hello friends,
Today I have an 8 x 10 canvas board that I created a place for displaying a picture. I made it for my Grammy for a picture that was taken of her at a flower festival she recently went to. She mentioned to me how she would love a special frame to showcase the pic. I figured she was dropping hints so... I got set to work on it. :)
Here it is:
To get started, I sprayed the canvas with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist so the edges have a shimmer to them. I added a piece of Mimosa (SEI) cardstock to mat it. I used the Beach House Wallpaper DP to mat the picture. I paper pleated around the top & bottom with more Mimosa Cardstock. I covered the seams with this really fab Prima Rose Ribbon. I added a Prima Wrinkle Rose in the corner. This is a gorgeous bloom- you have to play with it to get it to look the way you want, but since each petal is wired, that's easy to do.

Here's a closer peek at it:
Very realistic & pretty :)

Here's a profile pic of the finished canvas:

To finish it up I cut out the "Grandmother" title from my Cricut using the Mother's Day Cart. Seriously, it's such a great little cart- not just for Mother's Day! You've seen me use this cart a lot!

You can find all all of the products used on this project at YMH Store---> Here. Lots of them on sale :) and if you love Prima Flowers (like I do :) you'll love the variety & prices.

Thanks so much for peeking! I'm off to catch up on Tuesday's episode of Lost I missed. I hope it's a good one!

Jolie Butterfly- MOJO 137

Howdy friends!
I almost forgot to post this card for this week's Monday Mojo Sketch Challenge!
Here's my card:

Here's this week's sketch:
This card came together speedy quick for me! I used the ribbon ruffle technique which is so easy & fun to do. I die cut & embossed the butterfly in vellum & swiped my Krylon Silver leaf pen to the edges. Easy-peasy!

Hope all you mommies had a great Mother's Day & I know the good times continue for the mamas from Spanish-speaking countries who celebrate Mother's Day on May 10th.
Gotta Go!

More for Mother's Day

Hello friends,
Yaaay! it's Saturday!!! I'm sure in some language "Saturday" must mean "the best day of the week" I tell ya! Today I have a few more Mother's Day cards to share.
Here they are:
This card has a more "mature" feel 'cause it's for one of my school chums--- one of my "God mothers" as I call them. She is someone who is very much like a mom to me. BTW, I used last week's MOJO sketch (square) for this card:

The next one is for my Grammy:
Very simple layout. My version of CAS :) I used PTI's In Bloom set for the flower. (My MOST Fav set from PTI) I'll be meeting up with Grammy later for a yummy lunch! can't wait :)

This one is for my friend who is another one of my "Godmothers"
I embossed the center panel & spritz it with Glimmer Mist for a shimmery look.

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend & have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Big Hugs!!!
