Jolie Butterfly- MOJO 137

Howdy friends!
I almost forgot to post this card for this week's Monday Mojo Sketch Challenge!
Here's my card:

Here's this week's sketch:
This card came together speedy quick for me! I used the ribbon ruffle technique which is so easy & fun to do. I die cut & embossed the butterfly in vellum & swiped my Krylon Silver leaf pen to the edges. Easy-peasy!

Hope all you mommies had a great Mother's Day & I know the good times continue for the mamas from Spanish-speaking countries who celebrate Mother's Day on May 10th.
Gotta Go!

More for Mother's Day

Hello friends,
Yaaay! it's Saturday!!! I'm sure in some language "Saturday" must mean "the best day of the week" I tell ya! Today I have a few more Mother's Day cards to share.
Here they are:
This card has a more "mature" feel 'cause it's for one of my school chums--- one of my "God mothers" as I call them. She is someone who is very much like a mom to me. BTW, I used last week's MOJO sketch (square) for this card:

The next one is for my Grammy:
Very simple layout. My version of CAS :) I used PTI's In Bloom set for the flower. (My MOST Fav set from PTI) I'll be meeting up with Grammy later for a yummy lunch! can't wait :)

This one is for my friend who is another one of my "Godmothers"
I embossed the center panel & spritz it with Glimmer Mist for a shimmery look.

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend & have a wonderful Mother's Day!
Big Hugs!!!

Grammy's Mini-Book

Hi friends,
Today I've got a very easy project to share with ya! I made this mini-book for my grammy.
Here it is:
It's not a blurry pic. It's the acetate cover that's creating the glare :(

And here are the inside pages:
Back cover page:
See, it is a mini-book- only 4 pages :)
The reason why I made this book is that my grammy was bummed the rest of the family & her friends didn't get to see the flower doggie I bought her for her b-day. Click---> HERE to see it. I didn't tell her I took pics of it, so I'm surprising her with this mini-book. I'll be adding the doggie pics later.

To make this mini-book, I used the Mother's Day Cricut Cart. It's actually the coupon book, but I changed it to a mini-album :) I cut that at 5" as well as the acetate front & back covers. I used the beautiful Mimosa Papers from SEI for the mats & just about everything in this book. All the flowers came from the following carts: Mother's Day, Indie Art, and Love Struck. The Pebbles Inc. ribbon secures the book. The beautiful "Grandma" title is one of the words on the Mother's Day cart.

Cutting Acetate: I set my blade at 6, Pressure Max, & set it at Multi-cut 3 & it cut it out beautifully. No need for the deep cut blade.

The Love Struck cart, Pebbles Inc Ribbon, & Mimosa Collection are on sale at the YMH Store so check them out!

Thanks so much for peeking! Mom's Day came so quickly and I've still got a few cards to make!
Gotta Go!

Is YOUR Doggie this CUUUTE???

Hey there friends,
I have the cutest doggie to share with you today. I bought him for my Grammy for her birthday. She LOVES flowers & I thought she would love this:
(Please excuse my background. I just took some QUICK pics of it in my patio :(

What kind of doggie would this be? Shih Tzu? Poodle? Whatever it is, I thought it was adorable. Look at all the details! My grandma said she didn't want anymore "junk" to clutter her house for her bday- she just wanted flowers. So when my son & I saw this in the florist shop we thought this was a good choice :) there was nothing else in the store like it.
Here are more peeks:
close up of face:
(The nose is a black pom pom, tongue is ribbon. All the flowers are real- not one is artificial)
Close up of body:
(See the little butterfly on her back :)
Here's a view from the back:
It looks like she's lying in a flower bed :) (It is finished on all sides)

Here's a view from above:
I love the creativity! It reminds me of something you'd see at the Tournament of Roses Parade! And just as I was hoping for, my grammy couldn't get over it! She loved it :) and that was what mattered to me.
Thanks for peeking at the poochie :)

For a Cheeky Mama

Hi ya friends!
Are you Cheeky? At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about the Cheeky Collection from The Greeting Farm. But after seeing so many cute cards made with the images, I decided to ride the risqué roller coaster & get them!
So today, I'm sharing a Mother's Day card for one of my friends, Sam, who I *think* will appreciate the cheekyness.
Here's her card:
These are a bit challenging to color, I must admit, but they're loads of fun too. :) The inside says "You're one HOT Momma!... Happy Mother's Day!"
I colored her with my Copics & added Spica glitter pen to her eyelashes, dress, & shoes for added flirtyness.

Copics Used: Skin: E11, E50, E51, R20  Hair: C3, C5, C7, C9   Clothes: E000

I used this week's SCS Card Sketch for the card:
It's OK to be cheeky once in a while, right? So what do you think of the Cheeky Girls? Any stamps that you find too cheeky for ya?

Thanks so much for peeking today!
Gotta Go!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Hi friends,
On this day, 83 years ago, a very important person in my life was born--- My grammy. If I had to name one of the most influential people in my life, grammy would top the list. When I was a little girl, she would take me along wherever she went. When she took cake decorating classes at the local community center, I went too. When she took floral arranging classes, I was there. She taught me how to crochet potholders and make scarves & blankets for my Barbies. She bought me crayons and art supplies so I could explore the artist in me. I know that my love of papercrafting today stems from her. She's my biggest fan & my biggest supporter.
I LOVED helping her make tamales, but I LOOOOOVED eating them more! She makes the BEST, YUMMIEST food!!! One of the most important lessons came from simply watching her live her life. My grammy is fearless. She's adventurous. Her thinking is "You'll never know until you try it."
So when people say where I get my adventurous, free-spirited nature, & sense of humor, I say I get it from her:
This is my grammy. So sweetly posing for a picture next to this tree until she decided  she'd rather do this...

wait for it...

wait for it...

SWING FROM THE TREE!!! OMGosh, she didn't even put her purse down!!! Yup, this is where I get it from :) This picture was taken about 4 months ago during one of her excursions. (Tee! Hee!)

Happy Birthday Grammy!!!!! I love you and... Thank You... for everything I am.

And Thank you, friends, for letting me share this with you.
