MOJO114 Just in the Nick of Time

Hi friends,
What do you do with your scraps from projects and cards? I keep mine, & create more cards with them! All the cards I will share with you this week came from scrap papers (not all from the same paper line, but I made them work :) Anyhoo, on to my card for this week's MOJO Monday Sketch Challenge:
Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

I went for a rustic (could be for a man) look. The border punch looked like Santa's beard to me so I went with it.

Here's a closer peek at Santa:

Isn't this such a beautiful image! Luuuuv it! I got this last year at Uncle Mike's. I stamped the sentiment so that it would be subtle & kinda blend with the image.

Here's a peek of the inside:

The border along the bottom is the same border punch I used on the front of my card. I simply punched along both edges of my paper to create this border.

Where did you see this paper before??? When I made this card:

Thanks for peekin' today! I've got Parent-Teacher Conferences this week to get ready for.

Organization: Cricut Solutions Cartridges

Hi friends,
Today I thought I'd share the way I organize my Cricut Solutions cartridges. These are the ones that don't have as many images or come with a book. I don't have anywhere near as many of these as I do the full content cartridges, so this was a perfect solution for me :)

I bought this File Folder box at Auntie Joann's at 50% (+ 20%) off. So I ended up getting it super cheap!

It's a great size at only 6" x 9" x 8". So it doesn't take up a lot of space, but look at how much it holds:

I wrote the name of the cart on the label & put the cartridge insert, overlay, & cart in each section. Easy to find & to put back when done :)

Here's a peek from the top:

I think this would be a great way to take your carts with you to crops & swarms if you don't want to drag your cart boxes with you. The handle makes this perfect to grab & go :)  The book, overlay, & cartridge all fit in each section. If you don't have that many carts--->yet, you could use this as a way to store your full content carts too.

I hope this gives you ideas on ways to organize your Cricut toys. Thanks for peekin' today :) I'm off for some after Thanksgiving cleaning :( My craft space is a mess!!!
Gotta go!

Guinew Moon

Hi friends,
I'm not much of a black Friday shopper (can't picture too many things that would get me out of my sweet slumber at 4 a.m. :) but I am eventually leaving the pad to see the New Twilight: New Moon. I came across a link to this spoof & it is soooooooooo funny! Fluffmeister, my guinea pig,

and I were rolling on the floor laughing! He gives it two paws up! Enjoy!!!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop-November

                   Tag you're it!
Hi friends,
Today I'm participating in PTI's Blog Hop. This month, our task was to create simple packaging or tags. I decided I needed tags so tags it was :)
Here's what I created:

It's a very simple little tag. Instead of a Christmas Tree, how 'bout a Holiday Topiary! Here's a closer peek:

Here are the deets:

I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags for the tag base. I cut it out of Shimmer White Cardstock for just a hint of shimmer. I used the pot from Everyday Button bits inked it in Terra Cotta tile & added a couple New Leaf buttons. I added some bling for the garland. The sentiment fit perfectly within the filigree at the bottom of the tag.

Thanks so much for hopping by! I'm off to check out your tag & packaging creations :) Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Gobble till You Wobble!!!

Gotta go!

Aly's Sketch Challenge ASC6

Hi friends,
So you think you can...craft? This is what I'm thinking when I use one of Aly's sketches to create a card! Seriously, I don't know how she does it! FYI: Aly is Tami's talented 10 year old daughter who creates sketches & the cutest cards with them. I created this card with her sketch:

Here's Aly's sketch:

Her cards are just so much more amazing than what I could think of as a 10, 20, or even 30 year old! But I do like a challenge :) So... you think YOU can craft? Try Aly's sketches and find out for yourself! You can find her blog ---> here

Thanks for peekin'. I want to play along with the PTI Blog Hop tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I'll make it :{

You can add fewer pockets if you wish. It's a great way to present those small gifts.
Here are a couple of simple cards made with the same paper line:

Very vintage in feel don't ya think?

Thanks for peekin' today :) It's Thanksgiving Day for those of us in the U.S. in a few days so I've got loads of things to do to get ready for that ---> Gotta Go!

Cinema Saturday Challenge- Shakespeare in Love!

Hi friends,
I am this week's guest designer for Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge Blog. This week's movie is...

I must confess that I had not seen this movie. But, I watched it & thoroughly enjoyed it!!! It was witty, well-written, & well-acted. Anyhoo, this week's challenge is to create anything but an A2 card. So are you ready to take this challenge on? Ohhhh, YEAH! Well 'nuff blabber & let's take a peek at the card I've created for Shakespeare:

Welcome to my theater. Obviously, that was the inspiration for my card. It is basically an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock --->tri-fold. One part forms the front stage, the second part forms the curtain area (where part of the message is written---> cancelled), and the third part is the inside of the card where I wrote the rest of the message. Speaking of which, here it is:
The inside

There were MANY lines that I wanted to use, but I decided on the lines where one character (Philip) says to William Shakespeare "the show must... (you know) and Will promps him with "Go on!" So classic! If you want to check out that line "in action" here's a snippet of the film. You'll need to scroll to 6:44 to get to that part.

Here's a view from the top:

I created the floor beams with my trusty Scor-Pal. I inked some of the surfaces for added detail :)

Here's one last peek at the front of the stage:

To create the curtains, I used the embossed curve punch (I know, I know, I said I would put this punch away since I've used it on so many other projects, but don't ya think it makes the most perfect stage draperies???) I punched two strips of those & layered in between with pop dots. (BTW, I went crazy with the pop dots on this card! It is very dimensional!) I cut 2 smaller ones for the side curtains & ran them through my crimper. I added the fleur-de-lis detail (by using one of the dies from the FDL Spellbinders Pendants die) to make it look as if it would be good enough for the queen to attend if she would be inclined to do so :)  It does fold back to a tri-fold and turns back into a pumpkin at midnight (just kidding :) but that's pretty much it!

I hope I've tempted you to play along this week! If you haven't seen this movie, treat yourself! Thanks so much to Sankari & Brooke for letting me play again as guest designer :) I always have a blast with Cinema Saturday Challenges! Thanks for peekin'!

Nora's Debut & YMH Sale News

Hi friends,
Today I'm sharing a card I made for this week's:

as well as using this week's MOJO Sketch Challenge:

to create this card:

I used this new Pixie Stamp for my main image & added liquid appliqué so she would look like she's in the middle of a snow flurry.

I don't know why my camera was not loving photographing Nora's hair, but it actually looks alright IRL. Because I was chosen for last week's Audrey Award, I get to be next week's guest designer!!! Yahoo!!! I can't wait for you to see what I have created for next week's movie, Tee! hee!

Good News! YMH Store is having a 40% off all Bind-it-All products, but it's only for 48 hours and limited to stock on hand. So stock up & save! Check it out---> here and here.

THANKS SO MUCH for peekin' in today! I'm so tickled you did :) See ya on Saturday with Cinema Saturday Challenge---> say that 3 times fast!

Birthday Orchids

Hi friends,
I created this card for another friend's birthday. I have several friends with November birthdays now that I think about it. Hmm, I wonder what what was going on? If my calculations are correct 9 months before November is... February! They must be Valentine presents! Hee! hee! This card is simple in design. The orchid is layered & popped with dimensionals. I added a ribbon scrap as the leaves.

Anyhoo, here's a peek of the inside: Clean & simple.

Thanks so much for peekin' today! You guessed it! More school stuff to work on :(

She's a Winner!

Hi friends,
I created this card for my friend, Crystal, who has a certain little passion. Can you tell what it is??? Yup it's knitting! (just kidding :) She luuuuvs going to the casinos so I thought this card would be great for her. There's lots of dimensional elements on this card.
Here's a peek of the inside:

Shhhh, I've got a secret. Come closer. closer. I actually made this card a while back for a challenge, but never actually did anything with it. I just changed a few elements & it was game time! Is that bad? Tacky? Smart :) This is the original card:

Thanks so much for peekin' in today. I'm busy with school stuff so.... Gotta Go!
