Lasting Hearts Prayers

Hi friends,
Today I'm sharing some cards I created to send to the Lasting Hearts card drive. These cards are going to be given with a book for parents who have suffered the loss of a miscarriage. This is something that many women experience and hopefully, through these efforts, they will know they are not alone, it is not their fault, and there are people who care and want them to know they are stronger than they may think.

Here's my card design:
I chose a soft color palette of Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Pastel Yellow, Passion Flower, Pastel Blue, and Pastel Mint. I chose butterflies because, to me, they symbolize renewal, faith, and more. They come from the Butterfly Stamp set by AmyR. I love this stamp set because it has lots of butterflies in different sizes and stages of flight. I added some vellum butterflies (Martha Stewart punch) scattered around them. The sentiment from the Prayers Set (Simon Says Stamp/Hero Arts) was heat embossed in Liquid Platinum (Ranger).

Here's a peek of the innies:
This sentiment came from the With Sympathy stamp set (Papertrey Ink).

Here's all of the cards I created, all the same way.

I have a friend who recently had a miscarriage, and it's been very hard on her. So in her honor, I decided to contribute some money to purchase books for other women and create these cards to go along with them.

This is the card I had made and given to her:
I wouldn't ordinarily use bright colors for these kinds of cards, but knowing her, and how she feels about rainbows, I decided to use the die-cut as the rainbow.

You can find all of the info about the Lasting Hearts card drive HERE.
Thanks so much for peeking today and have a great weekend *Ü*

Stinkin' Cute

Hello friends,
I have a few more cards for the Cards from the Heart card drive and the Share the Love card Challenge.

Here they are:

This is the "boy version."
I used the Stinkin' Cute stamp set with the coordinating dies (Lawn Fawn). Now that's a stamp set that lives up to its name! *Ü* I colored the little skunk with Copics. I die-cut the large heart from the Nestabilities heart set (Spellbinders) and the Heart Circles die (Spellbinders) from Regal Rose and Strawberry Slush cardstock (SU).

Here's the "Girl version."
Everything is the same except for the little flower on her head and the embossing folder in the background. The boy one has dots and this one uses the Rose Garden folder (Sizzix).

Here they are together for comparison:

Here are all the Girl ones: I made 3 of these.

and 2 boy ones:
(If the skunks looks different, you have a good eye! No need to adjust your screen...I colored one skunk with Warm Gray markers, but I liked it better with Cool Grays, so all the rest of the skunks are colored in cool grays.)

Here's a peek of the innies: all have this design.
The sentiment stamp came from the $1 bin at Michael's.

I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #431.
I hope the kiddos getting these cards think they're stinkin' cute! Too bad these aren't scratch & sniff... that would have been a fun touch! ... well maybe the boys might think so. *Ü*

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cards From the Heart Card Drive

Hi friends,
There are a few card drives going on right now, and since I had a lovely crafternoon free, I decided I should spend it making some Valentine's Day cards to bring a smile to some sweet kids. Today's set is going to the Cards from the Heart drive. You can read all about it ---> HERE.

I created 5 cards in this set.
Here is one:
I used the Pizza my Heart stamp set & coordinating dies (Lawn Fawn). I colored the pizzas with Copics & had fun stamping on the toppings. Since the "Olive You" sentiment was on all the cards, I made sure to include at least one olive on each pizza. *Ü* I used the Gingham Backdrops Stamp set (Lawn Fawn) and the Plaid Embossing folder (Cuttlebug) in the background.

Here are the innies, which is the same for all cards:
Here's a peek at the other pizzas:

And a group shot:

I used this week's clean & simple sketch from My Favorite Things #263.
I truly hope the kiddos receiving one of these cards, smile when they see it *Ü*
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Thank You Set for Grammy

Hi ya friends,
My Grammy asked me if I could make a couple of Thank you cards for gifts she received for Christmas, and of course, I did *Ü* But, since I had a bit of crafty time on my hands, I thought I'd make a set for her to have extras for when she needed them.

Here they are:
Since I was making multiples, I decided on making a simple design. 1) Die-cut the top panel with the Wonky Stitches die (Avery Elle). 2) Emboss each panel with a different embossing folder for interest & texture without much effort. 3) Die-cut the beautiful Thank You die (Impression Obsession) from craft foam & Metallic Platinum cardstock (DCWV). And adhere it all together. Easy-Peasy! I kept the color palette Neutral since I don't know who the recipients are. I used Nennah Solar White and Desert Storm cardstock.

Here's the next: Scales Embossing Folder (The Paper Studio)

Embossing folder: Candy Cane Stripe (Cuttlebug)

Embossing folder: Decorative Tile Set (Cuttlebug)

Embossing folder: Chevrons (Darice)

Embossing folder: Leafy Tree (Darice)

Here's a bad pic of the details & dimension:

Here's a pic of the innies: Left it blank for Grammy to write her message.

And I made an envelobox to store them.

Well, Grammy really liked them so now she would like me to make her a set of Birthday Cards too... yes, Grammy, of course... can you please pass the Chile Rellenos *Ü*

ETA: You can find the video tute I created for making an envelobox --->HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Until next time...

Soda-lightful

Howdy friends,
Today's card is going to our school's office assistant. Friday will be her last day with us at our school because she has been promoted. Sadly, this means she will be leaving us :(  She will be missed, let me tell ya!  She loves Coke and drinks it everyday, so that inspired her card.
Here it is:
I used the Soda Pop Bottles and matching stamp set (MFT) for the coke bottle. I pounced a thick coat of embossing ink & added clear embossing powder to get that icy cold coke look. Then, I added a few dots of Glossy Accents for the condensation drops on the bottle.

Here's a closer peek:
For the background, I used the Bottle Caps embossing folder (Tim Holtz) and spritzed it with Silver Spray (Tattered Angels). Then, I added a few clear Dew Drops. Yes---Dew Drops *Ü* Those of us that have been around the crafty block a while have seen these before. I never got rid of them so now I'm glad they're coming back on trend because it justifies my crafty hoarding! hehehe *Ü* The "Thanks for everything" is from the Thanks stamp set (Simon Says) and the "Congrats" die-cut is from Lawn Fawn.

I used this week's MFT sketch #263 (rotated):
I'm happy for her promotion because she definitely deserves it 100 times over, but I'm so bummed she's leaving us--- she's soda-lightful to work with...

Thanks so much for popping in today!
Hope you have a crafty weekend!

Lots of Love

Hi there friends,
Popping in to share a card today I was inspired to create with this week's MFT sketch #262.
Here it is:

 Here's the sketch:
So one of my kryptonites is doing anything straight! Maybe this card looks simple, but it was hard for me to get these die-cuts to line up! Having those wonky stitches along the edges totally didn't help either, Lol! I die-cut the "love" die from the Accent it: Celebrate set of dies (MFT) in varying shades of pinks-to-Red. I added little strips of glitter sheets (Tim Holtz) under each to kind of "fix" any diecuts that weren't exactly straight *Ü* I used the Layered Heart border die (MFT) and inlayed the hearts in the same ombré colors.

Here's a peek of the innies:
I used the largest Wonky Stitches die (Avery Elle) on the front and inside panel. The stamp was from the $1 bin at Michaels.

I think I will send this card to my Grammy because I love, love, love, love her... and... she's 88 so she won't notice if they're not perfectly straight *Ü*

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Thank yous

Happy New Year friends,
I hope 2016 has been good to you so far *Ü*
I have a couple of Thank You cards to share today.
Here's the first:
I really like the color combos in this paper pad- oranges, pinks, grays, and white. It's from the Blomma collection by Jessica Swift & Anna Griffin. I used the small Dainty Bow Dienamics (MFT) on a Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner Stax (MFT). The sentiment is from Signature Greetings (PTI) on a Stitched Circle Stax (MFT). The little "THANKS" banner was a freebie I received, but it's from Taylored Expressions. I luved that this card came together speedy quick because there's NO coloring- just pattern paper & die cuts & one sentiment stamp! *Ü*  Yay!

Here's the next card:
This card is going to one of my students who plays guitar in his own band--- hence the theme. The guitar comes from the Accent It: Rock & Roll Dienamics (MFT). The sentiment is from Masculine Graphic Tee (MFT). The "Gracias" is from a freebie from Lawn Fawn.
Here's a closer peek at the guitar:
I added a coat of Glossy Accents all over the guitar to give it that slick look. I also used the Liquid Platinum embossing powder (Ranger) and oh my word---I'm in luv! It is a beautiful color! I die-cut the little stars in in too.

I used a couple of sketches to assist me on these cards:
Mojo Monday #428 and MFT Sketch #261.

I have a few more Thank You cards to make--- which is a GOOD thing, right! Lots to be grateful for *Ü*

Thanks so much for peeking at my cards today!
Have a great week *Ü*
