Hi ya friends,
Thank you so much for your well wishes :)I'm getting there. It would help if I remembered to put the ear drops in my ears! But I get so busy at school & then when I get home, that I forget :(
Well, today I'm heading off to my friend's wedding. I wanted to share the card I made for her (and her hubby to be). Actually, it's not really your traditional card, but one of my box cards :)
Here it is all closed up:
Here's a closer peek at the decorations on the lid:
And here's what's inside!
What you're seeing is a glass slipper on top of a wedding cake!
Here are all the close-up peeks:
First the glass slipper deets:
I made the cake base with the largest tier of the 3D cake die from Sizzix (so you don't have to use all three tiers :) Then I took a Cheery Lynn Border die called Carnivale to form the sides of the cake then I adhered it to a doily. The glass slipper is actually made from plastic & I bought it for about 59 cents from Alin's Paper Co. It can be found it the Wedding section where they have all the party favors. I guess it's for filling with candies or nuts, but all I saw was cake!
I then added some pearls to it with my Viva Decor Pearl pen. I added a few blooms from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Here's a peek at other views of the glass slipper:
From the other side:
From the back:
Here's a peek at each of the panels:
This sentiment comes from MFT Clearly Sentimental about Romance. I thought it was the *perfect* sentiment to go with the glass slipper :)
I added an orange tulle butterfly to this one cuz it's her fav color. I used my Viva Pen to add little pearls to the flower centers.
I will write my message to the couple on this panel.
And the back panel.
All the papers are from MME's Follow Your Heart collection.
I don't know that the groom will think this card is for him too, but I did add the metal words: Best Wishes" for that masculine touch and I used lots of my "tools" to make this too ;)
While working on this cake box, I found a way to make it better! It was an "a-ha" moment, that really was more of a "duuuuh!" moment ;) Hee Hee! I'll work on the tute for that tomorrow & post it as soon as possible.
I'd like to play along at the following challenges:
Fussy & Fancy: Die cuts
Crafting for all Seasons: Anything but a Card
Inky Impressions: Anything Goes
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Everybody-Art: Wedding
Tip Top Tuesday: Anything but a Card
Thanks so much for sticking with me on this long post :)
I'm off to get ready cuz I can't be late!
Gotta Go!
