Hello dear friends,
Those of us here in the states are getting ready for... some FOOTBALL!!! oh & Thanksgiving too ;) This year, I'm hosting dinner at my house so I've been running around like a crazy woman (more than my usual crazy :) getting everything ready. No, i don't cook---> you were going to ask weren't ya! I actually ordered a Chucky (aka Turducken) & a full meal from the culinary school at a local university. All I need to do is heat & eat---> just my style! i make some smaller- less pressure if i mess them up- side dishes. But, I do have to get the house ready, & the boys ready.
Anyhoo, I did take some time to create a Thank you card for my neighbors. They give my older son a ride to school, & often, back home from school. Both of our sons play basketball on the same team at school.
I used this week's Monday Mojo sketch:
Here's my card:
I used Leaf Prints & Signature Greetings stamp sets from PTI. The leaves are stamped in Terra Cotta Tile, Pumpkin Pie, & More Mustard. The veining & the sentiment is heat embossed in gold. The cardstock is embossed with 2 CB embossing folders: Leafy Branch & Thanks. I ran my Krylon Gold leaf pen around the edges, wrapped the ribbon around the card front, & adhered a little leaf button to it.
Here is the very simple innies:
Oh, in case you haven't heard of Turducken, it's a turkey that is made with alternating layers of meat. There's a layer of turkey, a layer of duck, & a layer of chicken, etc... I call it Chucky! Doesn't it sound better than turducken???
Thank you for peeking today... and everyday :)
I'm off to gobble till I wobble!
Gotta go!
Hi Karli,
ReplyDeleteI just stopped by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh......and I love your card. Really beautiful.

Heat & eat--love it! Allows for more crafting time. Enjoy your day. We are eating out today.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card--the embossed background, gold trim, and leave button all add to the pretty stamped leaves.
Beautiful card- love the bow! I Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving- wow- a celebration with no cooking- awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning. I love how the little bit of embossing peeks out from behind the image. Hope you had a great holiday
ReplyDeleteOh! I LOVE this card, just beautiful. Sounds a fun meal, Chucky sounds like a dog food though LOL! Hope all went well and everyone enjyed their meal
ReplyDeleteHugs
Anne
Hey Karli, hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Never knew anyone who actually ate Turducken, I've seen it on Food Network every year, is it good? Hope you had a great feast and are now wobbling! I know I am. Your card looks amazing. I have that PTI set and should really show it a little love and ink, great inspiration with your card!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL card! I just love fall cards, I really should try and make one LOL.
ReplyDeleteSo how was the turducken? I was watching a TV show and they made a turturkeykey (a turkey stuffed inside a turkey) and hte joke was how it felt so "wrong" eating a turkey that had been "violated" by another turkey. So I hope chucky didn't taste "wrong".
Well, now that I've left you with that image, I'm gonna split.
Hope you had a nice long weekend from schoolio
Hugs!
