Custom Bookmarks with Tassels! + VIDEO

Hi friends,
Today I have a non-card project to share that I created for myself!
Here they are:
I recently picked up 4 books to read over the Summer (and beyond) so I made one bookmark for each of them. They feature the cute Lawn Fawn critters reading their own books. Each bookmark also has its own tassel. I used the WeRMemory Keepers' Fuse Tool to create the plastic pockets. But if you don't have it, you can get a similar look by using a laminating sheet through a laminator or Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches.

Here's a peek of the back- some cute critter bums 🙈!

If you want to see how these came together, you can click ----> HERE, or watch below.

At the Movies + Video

Hi friends,
Today I have a fun birthday card highlighting a day at the movies!
Here it is:

This super cute image is called Newton's Movie Night from Newton's Nook and how cute, right?

Every Summer, some of my teacher friends (many who are retired), and I get together for a girls' lunch and a movie date. We go somewhere nice to have a yummy meal and hear how much they love being retired! 😂 Then we head to watch a movie. I am allergic to chick flicks/Rom Coms, so if they happen to choose one, then I just go to watch a comedy or horror movie instead since those are my fave genres.

With Covid 19 and all the restrictions that come with keeping people safe, movie theaters are currently closed. But when the day for our girls' lunch date comes around, I know we will go back to looking like the three kitties above 😀 and having so. much. fun!

Here's a peek of the innies:

Starbucks Inspired Drinks | Slimline Birthday Card

Hi ya friends,
Today I have a birthday card that is inspired by some of Starbucks perfect summer drinks!
Here it is:
I created a Unicorn, Frappuccino, and Pink Drink. Yummy, right?

Confession: I don't drink Frappuccino types of drinks. I am borderline diabetic so these drinks would probably push me all the way! I do, however, treat myself to a Pink drink from time to time. It is so yummy! This is what it looks like in case you've never had one. In the words of Ferris Bueller,  "It is SO choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
It's a dreamy blend of coconut milk and strawberry goodness 😋

Here's the innies:

Guess what? I have a video to walk you through the process of how this card came together.

Interactive Promotion Card

Hello again friends,
Today I have an 8th grade Promotion card for a talented young lady. But it's not just any ordinary card- it's interactive!- My fave card type 😍😍😍
Here it is:
I used a few products from Simon Says Stamp including this quintuple slider die that moves five elements at the same time!

Here's what it looks like when you pull up on the tab:
A sentiment is revealed and the graduation caps fly up! So fun! I would recommend that if you have this die you follow Jennifer McGuire's tutorial because her version allows you to conceal the mechanism much better and gives you a space for that hidden sentiment. You can find Jen's video ---> HERE.

Supplies:
Hat's Off Stamp set- Simon Says stamp
Quintuple Slider die- Simon Says stamp
Congrats Dienamics- My Favorite Things
For the Gradute Stamp set- Papertrey Ink

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Distance Learning Thank You Cards

Hello friends,
I am back to share some thank you cards I created for my school kiddos. We finished Distance Learning FINALLY so I got going on creating 25 of these goodies.
I must admit, I don't particularly like mass-producing cards. It feels less personal. But in cases like this, it's what one has to do to be efficient.

Allow me to let you in on my typical card-making mind process...💬💬💬

I think about the person I'm creating a card for. I think about the reason/situation for the card. I think about their likes, their personality, little quirks, etc.- anything that will help me to personalize my therapy crafting session 😁. Then, I imagine what the card would look like... Then, I head over to my crafty stash and pick out some stamps and goodies that will bring the idea in my mind into reality. And that's it! I go about creating. So when I emerge from being "in the zone" I evaluate my crafty creation & if it doesn't make me smile, then I cannot send it. Thankfully, this doesn't happen very often. I think this is why as card-makers, we love what we do. Our crafty creations make us smile, then when the recipient gushes and loves it, we get a second wave of good feels, right? Right. So I guess that's what's missing for me a bit in mass producing cards.

So on to today's cards:
I can't say these were super easy to mass-produce, but they weren't hard either. Having a stamping tool like the one I used is definitely a plus to getting these done much faster. Well, instead of tell, I'll show you how these cards came together. You can watch the tutorial below or ----> HERE.

And a peek at the innies.

Thanks so much for popping in today. Hope you're all well and finding some time for a lovely crafternoon or two.
