Will Shoe Marry Me?

Hi ya friends,
Thank you so much for your well wishes :)I'm getting there. It would help if I remembered to put the ear drops in my ears! But I get so busy at school & then when I get home, that I forget :(
Well, today I'm heading off to my friend's wedding. I wanted to share the card I made for her (and her hubby to be). Actually, it's not really your traditional card, but one of my box cards :)
Here it is all closed up:

Here's a closer peek at the decorations on the lid:

And here's what's inside!

What you're seeing is a glass slipper on top of a wedding cake!

Here are all the close-up peeks:
First the glass slipper deets:
I made the cake base with the largest tier of the 3D cake die from Sizzix (so you don't have to use all three tiers :) Then I took a Cheery Lynn Border die called Carnivale to form the sides of the cake then I adhered it to a doily. The glass slipper is actually made from plastic & I bought it for about 59 cents from Alin's Paper Co. It can be found it the Wedding section where they have all the party favors. I guess it's for filling with candies or nuts, but all I saw was cake!

I then added some pearls to it with my Viva Decor Pearl pen. I added a few blooms from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Here's a peek at other views of the glass slipper:
From the other side:
 From the back:

Here's a peek at each of the panels:
This sentiment comes from MFT Clearly Sentimental about Romance. I thought it was the *perfect* sentiment to go with the glass slipper :)
I added an orange tulle butterfly to this one cuz it's her fav color. I used my Viva Pen to add little pearls to the flower centers.
I will write my message to the couple on this panel.
 And the back panel.
All the papers are from MME's Follow Your Heart collection.
I don't know that the groom will think this card is for him too, but I did add the metal words: Best Wishes" for that masculine touch and I used lots of my "tools" to make this too ;)

While working on this cake box, I found a way to make it better! It was an "a-ha" moment, that really was more of a "duuuuh!" moment ;) Hee Hee! I'll work on the tute for that tomorrow & post it as soon as possible.

I'd like to play along at the following challenges:
Fussy & Fancy: Die cuts
Crafting for all Seasons: Anything but a Card
Inky Impressions: Anything Goes
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Everybody-Art: Wedding
Tip Top Tuesday: Anything but a Card

Thanks so much for sticking with me on this long post :)
I'm off to get ready cuz I can't be late!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello friends,
Good news- I can finally hear out of my right ear again. The ear medicine the doctor gave me finally started kicking in :) I haven't been feeling so great so I haven't been up to anything crafty lately. But I did have a sympathy card to make for one of my fellow teachers who lost his Dad earlier this week.
Here it is:
I really tried to keep it simple ---> emphasis on the "simple." Ok, so maybe it's not quite a CAS card, but it's pretty simple in my book :) The cut out detail was achieved with a MS anywhere punch called Caning Pattern. It was a little difficult to get every single one to perfectly match the one next to it, but I really liked the design it creates. The papers are K& Company Julianne. I added a bow, pearls, my Viva pen, & a flower from Recollections. See pretty simple!

I have a big wedding to go to this weekend for a good friend of mine & I've had this crazy idea swirling in my head for her card. Now, I just need some time to work on it before Saturday! Yikes!

Thanks so much for peeking!
Just a couple more sleeps & hurray it's the weekend!
Gotta Go!

Swiiiing!

Hi ya friends,
I'm so tickled you're excited about my blogoversary candy! (See previous post for all the deets :)
I've got a fun card to share with ya today. I made it for a little boy my Grammy used to take care of.
Here it is:
This is a swing fold card. My very first! Here you see the card closed. I used MFT's At the Movies Die-namics set. The film reel is from T!m's line---> perfect size for cards :) the numbers were made with PTI dies & it's all on Shimmer Black cardstock.
This is an interactive card so that middle panel completely swings the other way when you open the card:
 Swiiiiing!

Now the "back" panel is on the front...
...and the panel that was on the front of the card when closed is now on the back! Tah Dah! Magic!
I just luuuv these interactive cards :) and it wasn't too tricky to make, plus you get 2 cards from 1 sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock. nice :) You can find a tute ----> HERE.

Thanks so much for peeking!
Hasta la bye-bye ;)

Blogoversary! Times THREE!!!

Hola friends!
Today marks a special day around the blog-o. It's my 3rd year blogoversary!!! That means 565 posts, nearly 400 followers (Wowee!), and over 228,500 hits ---> AMAZING! WOW! THANK YOU for all your kind comments & peeks at my crafty creations over the last 3 years.
If you've been around my blog, you know I like THREE, 3 is a good number :) so I have some special blogoversary goodies all ready to go with the theme of Three!
But first, sorry I meant to get this post up sooner, but the weather here in Southern California has been ever so icky! Lots of wind, rain & even threat of a tornado in Orange County! Ack! So that's why I was detained. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it cuz the freeways were so crowded :( even though I was driving my fabbie car:
The Hello Kitty Ferrari :) look at the cool exhaust pipes! Vroooom!

fortunately, my other means of transportation was standing by ready to bring me home:

I got home speedy quick! Awww, home sweet home ;)

When I opened the door I had some lovely flowers waiting for me:
awww, so sweet!

Now friends, it's time to have some cake:

Pour a bit of the bubbly:
and open our blogoversary presents! Yaaaay!
Like I said before, being that it's my 3rd blogoversary, and you know I like 3, I thought it would be ideal to theme this blog candy with...3. So everything will be in sets of three! How 'bout a peek at some of that candy now :)

First up is Tool Time: My 3 Fav T!m Tools:
The inkssentials blending tool, Design Ruler, and the tiny attacher. Luuuuv these!

Now that you have some good tools, you're ready to stamp! Maybe you'd like 3 of these:
3 Magnolia Stamps! You're getting Tilda Spreads Love, Tilda in the garden, and the brand-spankin' new, special edition, Stamping Tilda :)

Now you've inked up these girls, so you're ready to start your cards. You'll need some of this:
Some of my fav pattern paper! You'll get 3 6x6 packs of My Mind's Eye gorgeous collections.

Your cards are made so now comes the fun part... embellishing them!

So let's add:
3 packs of pretty flowers in pinks, yellows, & white (to mist/color any color you'd like :)

and this:
3 packs of adhesive rhinestones of beautiful designs & swirls.

then:
3 packs of metal charms in flowers & butterflies nicely detailed.

Should we stop here??? Nooooo, go big or go home right?!

Let's add one of my fav, fav, fav things:
3 Viva Decor Pens in my top used colors: Opal, Cream, & Ice White

And to add some last few play things for your Tildas. How 'bout...

a few tulle butterflies :) You'll be getting 3 of 3 different colors in the larger butterflies and 3 of  6 different colors of the small butterflies.

But WAIT! You don't have to choose. You get it ALL!!!

Here's the whole prize pack:
While I would have luuuuved to have 3 prize packs, jet fuel is expensive these days :(

So, what do you need to do to win? That's simple!

1) Just leave a comment on this post. ONE please. It could be about anything or answer this question: As you know I kinda like Hello Kitty. (No, I'm not obsessed! ;p) What's your obsession or what do you just luuuuv?

2) As with any other blog candy I've ever offered, you DO NOT need to be a follower. Follow this blog only if you like the crazy crafty concoctions I share :) I am truly humbled by the followers I have, & I'd rather you follow cuz you want to, not cuz there's blog candy up for grabs. BUT... (yes, there is a but) if you are a follower, as a thank you & token of my appreciation, I'll add a special prize to the mix. I'll give you a hint: You'll die to get your hands on them :)

3)  You have until midnight (PST) Friday, April 20th to leave your comment.

As with the previous years, my beautiful assistant:
will use RANDOM.org to choose a winner. The winner will have until Sunday, April 22 to claim their prize or my beautiful assistant will choose again. This prize pack is open to everyone :)

Big THANK YOUs to everyone for THREE wonderful years of bloggy fun! Special Thanks to my blog friends who stop by regularly & leave sweet, encouraging comments & those who I've had the true pleasure of knowing since the beginning!

Here's to more lovely crafternoons!
Hugs,

Sadly all the pics today are not mine. I will post the links in a little bit. No, I don't actually own the HK Ferrari or Jet... yet ;)

He's Priceless

Hi ya friends,
Sunday was Easter Day, but it was also my oldest son's 18th birthday! There were times I was sure one of us wasn't going to make it to see that day, but fortunately we survived! This kid is a big reason for the gray hair I dye, & the many, many, many emergency room trips I made! I thought I would be getting a personal parking spot for a while :(  Did I mention that he was a 10 pound turkey at birth & I was in labor for 36 hours, & he didn't sleep through the night until he was 18 months old???!!! Ack! Well, that being said, he's also been my "Bones buddy" & my little basketball star. I will definitely miss watching him play (if he doesn't play in college) and our funny times when we get the giggles for no reason :) I guess I was right on the money when I named him Akoni~ which means "priceless" ;)

I was in Target & peeked at the birthday card section to check out the competition ;) wink & checked out the cards especially for 18 yr olds. It was so funny that they all mentioned the same thing ---> moving out! While I'm not quite ready for that, my son is definitely NOT ready for that! LOL!
Anyhoo, I didn't buy a card, I made one for him.
Here it is:
I used MFT's At the Movies stamp & dienamics set. I stamped 18 on the dots of the pattern paper (which fit perfectly :) The film reel border is a Sizzix die.
Here's a peek of the innies:
It reads, "18 and the best is yet to come." The numbers & stamp are from PTI. I am very excited for the "next steps" my son will be taking in life. Graduation & college in the near future & whatever else he chooses. Hopefully they will be good ones that will lead him to a life of purpose.

I used this sketch from The Sweet Stop (who is also celebrating a birthday!):

I'll also be playing along in the following challenges:
Love to Create: Birthday
Stampalot Challenge: Birthday
Polka Doodles: Big Birthday
Just Keep on Creating: Anything Goes

Thanks so much for peeking today!

Here it is:
Sorry, for the crazy lighting  :( I wanted to ink this little girl that I picked up last year (I think). It is called My Basket of Eggs from MFT.
Here's a closer peek:
She's colored with Copics. All her eggs are Stickled for glittery goodness :) The papers are from the Picadilly collection from BasicGrey & the border is a Marianne Designs die.

I used this week's MFT sketch for my card.
I'll be playing along in the following challenges:
BasicGrey Challenges: Easter
Secret Crafter: Easter
Card Makin' Mamas: Easter
Raise the Bar: Cutesy Easter/Spring
Simply Create Too: Eggs/Bunnies
